Developing a vertical quasi-two-dimensional surface-subsurface flow model using an approximation for hydraulic gradient

چکیده
Various models have been developed to predict rainfall-runoff. However, practical often simplify the actual phenomena and do not always provide sufficient accuracy for field-observed parameter values, such as soil water retention permeability. Other based on Richards’ equation can directly account these factors but are because of their huge computational cost. In this study, we a vertical quasi-two-dimensional surface-subsurface flow model (quasi-2D model) equation, in which hydraulic gradient downward direction was approximated by slope gradient. This method makes it possible consider moisture distribution perpendicular modeling runoff process. Rainfall-runoff simulations were conducted single using quasi-2D compared with results computed under same conditions detailed solving two-dimensional (2D model). For both subsurface surface flows, reproduced 2D well (NSE > 0.99), performed particularly steeper slopes. The computation time reduced less than 1/10 that model, confirming usefulness model.

Prediction of Sediment Transport Capacity in Rivers Using Quasi Two-Dimensional Mathematical Model
Sediment rating curve is an essential factor for many river engineering subjects and computations such as dredging, design of storage dams, river intakes design and sand mining management. Although, this curve is established using simultaneous measurement of flow and sediment transport discharges, however, due to lack of reliable data during flood events, it has limited reliability in flood con...
متن کاملShell model for quasi-two-dimensional turbulence.
We discuss the possibility to introduce geometrical constraints in shell models of turbulence in order to mimic the turbulent dynamics that takes place in fluid layers with large aspect ratio. By using a scale-dependent set of coupling parameters, we are able to resolve both scales larger and smaller than a geometrical dimension of the flow. The proposed model is able to resolve with high accur...

متن کاملA New Quasi-two Dimensional HEMT Model
A Quasi-two Dimensional HEMT model is presented which for the first time describes accurately the I-V characteristics close to device pinch-off and at high drain current. The model uses a new analytical model for describing the injection of charge into the buffer material. This analytical description works in conjunction with an asymptotic boundary condition in the charge control solution to dr...
